A striking generic Toddle House postcard. This card was postmarked 1939, Birmingham. It was likely picked up at one of the Birmingham locations.

Toddle House was a nation wide chain started in 1932. Dobb's House, owner of the Steak and Egg chain purchased Toddle House in 1962. The stores had only 10 counter stools, obviously relying on fast turnover and take out.

Birmingham apparently had two, both within blocks of each other. One was 2010, Highland Avenue, currently the location of a Ruby Tuesday. The other was three blocks north at 936 20th street south. Thanks to Tim Hollis for researching Birmingham locations from old Birmingham City Directories, Birmingham Public Library collection.
