The first Wigwam Village opened in 1933 in Horse Cave, Kentucky. It was the first of a chain of seven. Number 5 was on the Bessemer Super Highway (U.S.11) between Birmingham and Bessemer. As of 2006, the second still operated in Cave City, KY. The large teepees were constructed of concrete. The two small teepees on either side of the large office were public restrooms. The middle card is a less common ground level view from the road. |
